A face study; based on this stock photograph: [link]
57 hours, mostly Painter X with the eyelashes, eye reflection, hair, skin texture, and freckles done in Photoshop CS3. I still am not quite sure about this one, but any critique would be handy. I know the colors are weird... I have no explanation other than I think I see colors more vividly than they actually exist.. so yeah. I tried to be exact; but there are SO many errors here I feel a little crazy trying to fix them at this point >.> However, I'm quite happy to make some adjustments if I get a consensus... so lemme hear your ideas If you want to see a walkthrough and the details... beware for large file size and clicky here: [link] I probably won't submit a larger size of this because I'd rather not watermark it. UPDATE! I'll be redoing the walkthrough in a bit as well to reflect the final piece. Thanks for lookin! Gracie CommentsThank you

-- Your friendly neighborhood mint. Digitalmedia | =DA-Networking | former Creative Staff "I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people." -Van Gogh The colors look weird because of the blue hue that surround the edge of the face in the stock you based it on, and the hint of green in the middle. Basically, you've warmed the face, but left some of the colder colors in (mostly at the right eye and mouth), which is why they look 'off'.
Still though, vastly beyond anything I've produced lately, and definitely one of your better works in terms of character. I swear I could just reach out and touch her face if I'd had any less sleep. Well done. -- ~ELECTROpanda has a signature. |
