Please note! I hereby grant permission for any deviant to use the templates as they see fit (you can make your own templates based on mine, use them, abuse them, whatever you want) except for the following templates:

Angelic
Fella Fab
Wishes

Any other templates in the future using special-permission deviations are copyright to the deviant, and must not be changed.  This list will be updated as I go, along with the deviations themselves.

11.17.2006:
Creative Commons License UPDATE!

I have updated all of my CSS Journals with the appropriate Creative Commons allowances, but note:

None of the deviations are free for redistribution without significant changes.

Some are only available to use, and not to edit, so take care to note which ones are which, when you are using the templates. (They are also listed above)

Thanks!

//* Template FAQ! *//

FAQ #1:  Are your templates free to use?
Yes, they are free, and you need not credit me for their use.  You may not take credit for my work, however.  This is a common courtesy, please don't do it.  You can let me know if you have code issues, or if you need help. If you want to let me know, this is fine, sometimes I find small errors or issues with them once I see them used in a "live" journal, not a test journal, and thus I can edit the code to make it even better.

FAQ #2:  Can you make me a journal?
Unfortunately, personalized journals mean that only one person can use them.  I've created a variety of templates, and will be adding more when I can, for you to choose from.   I can be commissioned for journals, if you really want one, but please understand I can't make a journal for everyone who asks (I get at least 3 notes a week with this question), I simply don't have enough time.

FAQ #3:  Is CSS available to everyone on deviantART?
No, only subscribers have the CSS option.   I can't control that..  Please don't ask me for a subscription.  I give out random subscriptions sometimes, but not to people who ask.

FAQ #4:  Can I use anything in your gallery for my journal?
No, only the templates are available free for usage.  My paintings are copyrighted, and cannot be used without expressed, written permission.

FAQ #5:  Can I use the CSS for my own webpage, not a journal?
No.   It is not recommended to use these for webpages - the code is written specifically for deviantART journals.    My paycheck comes from web design; I offer the quick templates I've made for free for use only on dA.  I have gotten this question asked a lot, so I added it to the FAQ.   Please respect this.

FAQ #6:  Where are they for download??
You can check my CSS gallery to browse through them, or simply check the sidebars on my journals for linkage if you know which one you want.

FAQ #7:  I have a question!!
Heh, no problem.  Write me a note so I can help you one-on-one.  Try to be as specific as possible in your question, and feel free to provide the code that's the issue.   I will help people on a first-come-first-serve basis, please be patient if I get backed up.  I will get to everyone.  To make sure I get to the CSS questions first, please mention "CSS Question" in the subject line.

FAQ #8:  Can I change the images on the templates?
Yes.   You can add your name (Like, "so and so's journal"), change the color scheme, anything you wish.  Except in special cases, like "Angelic", "Fella Fab" and "Wishes", where parts of the header graphics were used by me with permission from Lucanos , chromosphere and.. well.. myself.  If you want to change these template graphics, please replace the entire graphic instead of modifying it.

FAQ #9:  I have a stock account, will you use my stock?
Sure!  Link me up and I'll take a peek and see if anything in your stock gallery would make a great journal.    I tend to use stock exchange because I don't know how other deviants feel about having their images in other people's journals without credit, [I credit in my deviation, but have no control over what people ultimately do with them, I can't promise a deviant that the people who use the journals will give credit] so I tend to stay away unless someone approaches me.

-What I look for in journal image stock:   Textures, unusual objects, beautiful colors, and something that will make a clean, semi-universal theme that a bunch of people can use.

FAQ #10:  Do I need to change the image locations in the CSS to my own server?
Yes.  I can no longer host the images on the templates due to sheer volume.   To change the image locations, upload the image to your own space, and copy and paste the URL of each image to replace the image URLs currently in the code.</em>
FAQ #11:  Are you going to make any more?

Yep!  While I've turned my focus again to painting, I will continue to make more when I have the time to do so.

FAQ #12:  Have you done any other people's journals besides your own?
Yes, when the CSS was first made available, I helped out my close friends who wanted CSS but didn't know it very well.  This wasn't favoritism on my part, I just had to cut it off after a certain point.

FAQ #13: Do you have a list of your journal themes so I can find them all?  They sometimes don't show up in your gallery.
Yep, they are all listed to the side, in the template menu.   Sandy, Kitty and Puppy were scrapped because frankly, I didn't spend much time on them.  However, they are still available if you want to use them.

FAQ #14: Do you know anyone else who supplies templates?
Yep, check the "Template friends" list to the side, this is my current running list of everyone I'm aware of that makes journal templates.  If you make templates too, please feel free to note me and let me know so I can add you to my list.

FAQ #15: Will you teach me CSS?
With how busy I've been lately, I can't sit down and teach you the ins and outs on CSS, but I've provided a list of links (more to come soon) of how to code CSS.   I have a bunch of books I refer to myself - they are available also on that list.  If you have a very specific coding question, send me a note.  Please be sure to explain the issue you're having as best you can, and provide the code you're having trouble with, and I'll be happy to help out.

Just a little about my history with CSS:

I actually graduated as a film major, was a painting major my first year of college, and am completely self-taught in web design.   I just thought it would be nice to give back a little to dA.    I am more than willing to work out coding and problems with you, but keep in mind I'm very busy, and my replies may be late.    I will, however, be sure to try to figure it out with you.  I answer notes in the order I get them, as soon as I am able.
